Attitude is Everything


You may have heard this before and perhaps not thought much of it, but your attitude is everything. Having a positive attitude helps create a healthy living environment. When you have a positive outlook, you will naturally attract positive people and energy in the world that surrounds you. This works exactly the same on the opposite end of the scale. When we approach anything in our lives with a positive attitude, we naturally feel lighter, less stressed and content. Of course life happens, and so there will be times that you won't necessarily find yourself in the best attitude, but it's about recognising it and being able to manage not only how your attitude impacts you, but also how it can impact others. Here are some easy tips on how to have positive attitude:

  • Gratitude: at the end of each day before you go to sleep list the best thing(s) that happened in your day that you are grateful for. Write it down or simply reflect on it in your head. Say Thank you three times after to feel the gratitude.

  • Kindness: spread kindness wherever you go. It may just be saying Hello to a stranger (that stranger may only get your hello that day) or checking in with a neighbour or friend to see how they are.

  • Focus on solutions not problems: if a situation arises that needs your attention, think how can I resolve this? instead of blame or focusing on the impact it has caused. What solution can you provide?

  • Sing or dance: to your favourite music

  • Good sense of humour: this is so important for the soul. Laugh often with others.

There are many other ways you can practice having a positive attitude, these are just a few of my go-to's. Remember, we get one shot at this thing called life, so let's make it enjoyable and live it well.
