3 Ways to Boost your Immune System

As we approach winter and especially whilst we're still in a pandemic it's important to be aware of how you can boost your immune system to keep yourself healthy. Here are my top 3 tips to keep your immune system healthy:

  1. Vitamin D: try to get out in daylight as much as you can even if cold. Eat your lunch or dinner outside or take a walk for fresh air. Vitamin D helps the regulation of calcium in our body keeping our bones, teeth and muscles healthy. It also contributes to our mental health. In winter it may be worth taking a supplement to boost this.

  2. Kefir: is a natural probiotic and reasonably cheap to buy. It's incredibly good for your gut health improving digestion, supporting weight loss, promotes good bone health and reduces inflammation. As someone who has IBS I rate this the highest. You can source it easily from your local polish shop and take a small glass each morning on an empty tummy.

  3. Vitamin C & Zinc: it encourages the production of white blood cells helping the body to protect against any infection. I use the fizzy tablets from Asda and Lidl.

In addition you should introduce these to a healthy diet and exercise regime overall. If you do want to take a supplement consult with your GP to ensure it's not impacting any other medication.
